why Shaw? why me?

Why Bernard Shaw?



           Why should we study about George Bernard Shaw's play Arms and the Man of all plays?

I wonder why it became commercially popular. I as a class twelve student want to understand his play more literally. You may think that I am doing it to pass my exams(though it is partially true,I want to understand his play sincerely).
